2024 Sue MacLaurin
Business Resilience Award
The Sue MacLaurin Leadership Memorial Award was created in 2014 by the Brockville Women in Business to honour the memory of Sue MacLaurin who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer in November 2013. Sue was an inspiration, a role model and a friend to many of the women in our group. Although she only lived in Brockville for a short period of time, she became part of our community becoming very active in the Brockville Women in Business and she left an impact on everyone she met.
During the pandemic, this award evolved into the Resillience Award and was created for an outstanding, driven, member who shows resilience, who has persevered and who has shown tenacity in the face of challenge. The Business Resilience Award was an embodiment of a member who triumphed over all in the face of challenge. As the pandemic begins to transition into the more long-term endemic phase, we wanted to take this opportunity to combine the two previous awards to become the Sue MacLaurin Business Resilience Award.
This award aims to recognize four qualities that both of our previous awards recognized:
Progressiveness, Tenacity, Courage and Spirit
If you know someone who displays these characteristics, we want to hear about them!

The Sue MacLaurin Leadership Memorial Award
The Sue MacLaurin Leadership Memorial Award was an idea of the Brockville Women in Business to honor the memory of Sue MacLaurin. Sue was an active member of our group who lost her battle with pancreatic cancer in November 2013. Sue was an inspiration, a role model and a friend to many of the women in our group. It was decided to create and present an award to someone who best emulates her qualities so the committee searched for the person who best mirrored Sue's drive and tenacity for business. This award was in place from 2014 - 2020
